The History of ADA Lighting Systems

1994

GREEN GLOW / 604

Based on Takashi Amano’s keen perspective for nature and his theory; “Most of aquatic plants use blue light to their photosynthesis”, NA Lamp - the world’s first lamp for aquatic plants - was developed. In order to maximize its very capability, almost of all ideas were literally put into GREEN GLOW / 604.

SOLAR Ⅰ

Solar Ⅰ(model no. NAMH-150W), an aquarium metal halide lamp, was developed for the large size aquariums with brighter light. A pendant style lighting system, Solar Ⅰ, enabled aquatic plants grow in emersed form as open top aquariums by freeing the airspace of aquariums which used to be covered with lighting systems.

AQUASKY

For small size aquariums, AQUASKY was developed to be a light-weight and compact lighting system for aquatic plants. By reinforcing its performance, AQUASKY has exploded the idea that “LED light is impossible to grow aquatic plants”, and now it becomes one of mainstream equipments for under 60cm size aquariums.

SOLAR RGB

Solar RGB is a pendant-style lighting system, developed to replace Solar Ⅰ. By optimizing the positioning and heat releasing capability of RGB LEDs, its brightness is as bright as the ones of metal halide lamps. Moreover, it has evolved as a high rendering LED lighting system for aquatic plants even brighter in red and green than the conventional models.
